On behalf of Great Western Dining Service (GW), GW would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new and returning students. GW’s goal is to ensure you have an enjoyable dining experience. Great Western has an open-door policy, and promise you this; we will listen to any concerns, answer any questions, and consider all reasonable requests. There are several avenues for the communication of your foodservice wants and needs, through conversation with myself or my team members, or by utilizing our comment box or through your food committee representative.

Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions, the following will be in place beginning Fall 2020.

Social Distancing will be required in our dining halls. Chairs and tables must remain in their current placement throughout the dining hall. All students must wear a mask to enter Food Service. Masks may only be removed to eat or drink.

No self-service is allowed for students. GW staff will serve all food and drinks. Students must remain in our main dining hall for additional trips through our foodservice serving area. Any student leaving our main dining hall will not be allowed to return for an additional trip through the serving line. All serving trays must be returned to GW after each meal.

On a regular basis, GW will have Student Special Events. These are fun and exciting ways to change your regular dining routine. They can consist of anything from an Ice Cream Sundae Bar, to an Elaborate Buffet, to a Holiday Party. Student Services will co-ordinate with Great Western for these events.

All students living in East, West, and South Dorms are required to purchase a USW meal plan. USW provides one meal plan for students to purchase. The plan includes 19 meals per week. Unused meals may not be carried forward weekly. All students must present their student identification card upon entering the Mustang Corral for any meal.

All meals are all-you-can-eat. Food or beverages may not be carried out of the Mustang Corral. Exceptions will be made for students unable to dine in the Mustang Corral due to an illness.

No cashing out at the end of the week will be permitted. Students must present their student identification card any time they purchase food, beverages, or other items. Only students who have purchased meal plans or pay cash will be allowed in the dining area during meal hours. Students may buy meal tickets to present to food service staff.
