Homecoming Week

Each year, University of the Southwest hosts Homecoming Week on campus.  In addition to other festivities, alum are honored with two distinguished awards during the annual Alumni Chapel Service on campus:

Distinguished Young Alumnus Award

The Distinguished Young Alumnus Award is given to a young alumnus (35 and under) whose achievements in their profession or chosen field and service to the community set a standard of excellence worthy of recognition.  The award recipient's character is a reflection of the university's values and mission and he or she demonstrates service and commitment to USW.

Alumnus of the Year

The Alumnus of the Year Award is the highest award presented by the Alumni Association.  The recipient has distinguished themselves through personal or professional achievement.  The recipient is a loyal alumnus who embodies what it means to be a USW Mustang and recognizes exceptional service to the community and/or the university.  The Alumnus of the Year has made a significant contribution to volunteer for professional organizations, and demonstrates the values of a USW education: servant leadership, individual faith, responsibility, and initiative.

To nominate an alum for either of these awards, please contact Maria Duarte at 575-492-2141 or by email at mduarte@usw.edu.
